Wild Yoga. On the Moors.

Wild Yoga. On the Moors. Being Wild and Free

Love. Devotion. Feeling. Emotion.

The moors. Wildly abandoned yet full of life. Derelict cottages tell stories of wild lives once lived in these remote places. Now nature takes over. Flora grows wild and free. Fauna roams wild and free. Birds fly wild and free. The moors hold secrets. It’s a place for a wild life. I’m drawn to the moors. The spaciousness of the sky and beautifully desolate landscape opens my heart and mind to possibilities. The moors have a past. We all do. Here I can let go. There are no boundaries on the moors. No beginning, no ending, no sense of time. Ever changing. It’s wildly freeing. Liberating.

Wild Innocence

Dava Moor is a place we visit frequently for wild adventures, wild yoga, wild swimming and wild photography. Tom introduced Tim and I to Dava Moor. It feels like a natural habitat for Tim, a Trailhound born to run wild and free across the Lakeland Fells, and it feels like home for my soul. I feel a wild innocence on the moors, connected to beautiful nature, being wild and free. I return to myself, I return to innocence.

Be yourself, don’t hide. Just believe in destiny. Don’t care what people say. Just follow your own way. Don’t give up and use the chance, to return to innocence. That’s not the beginning of the end, that’s the return to yourself. The return to innocence.

Wild Photography

I love watching Tom with his camera. The connection and unity between Tom, camera, place, subject and wild nature captivates and inspires me. Tom is an incredibly talented photographer and inspirational creative. Tom’s beautiful photographs capture wild innocence, wild heart, wild spirit, wild movement and wild soul. They tell a timeless story of a wild moment in time. Created with love, devotion, feeling and emotion.

One of Tom’s favourite wild yoga poses to practice on Dava Moor is Wild Warrior 3. A pose that requires incredible connection, balance and focus, just like his amazing photography.

Wild Warrior 3

Virhabadrasana III

Start in mountain pose, hands in prayer position at heart, Anjali Mudra.

Ground into the standing leg and as you inhale lift the other leg, bending at the knee.

When your knee is at hip height, on the exhale, extend the raised leg back as you tilt your upper body forward, balancing on the standing leg.

Energetically aim for a straight line from heel of raised leg to crown of head.

Engage your core for stability. Use your gaze to focus. Breath deep.

Feel the strength and balanced beauty of this powerful pose.

After a few deep breaths, change sides.

Notice how you feel.

Wild Warrior 3 builds strength, resilience and focus in the mind and body. It strengthens the legs, back and core, creates stability in the whole body, strengthens the small stabilising muscles in the feet and ankles, improves balance, stability, and coordination.

Don’t be afraid to be weak

Don’t be too proud to be strong

Just look into your heart my friend

That will be the return to yourself

The return to innocence.

Love your life
