Wild Yoga. In the Landscape.

Wild Yoga. In the Landscape. Being Wild and Free

What we see and feel around us is our unique view of the world at any given moment in time.

Let the landscape inspire your wild story.

The landscape. Mountains, hills, rocks, moors, rivers, streams, lakes, lochs, lochans, ponds, the sea. Living elements of land cover including trees and plants. Human elements of the landscape including different forms of land use, tracks, roads, paths, buildings and structures. Transitory elements such as lighting, weather and sky.

Wild and epic

The landscape is epic. What we see and feel around us is our unique view of the world at any given moment in time. Landscapes combine physical origins and the cultural overlay of human presence. Often created over millennia. The landscape is a living synthesis of people, nature, animals and place at a moment in time. Wild and epic.

Wild story

We are always part of a landscape. Observing. Admiring, feeling and seeing. We are connected to the landscape. A sense of place, a sense of being, a sense wonder. We are part of the landscapes story, and the landscape part of our wild story.

Wild, unspoilt, untamed

My favourite landscapes are unspoilt and untamed. It’s where I feel at home. In the wilds. Home to wildlife and the wild life I secretly crave. Where I love to connect with myself and nature by practicing wild yoga. The character of the landscape defining my true self at that moment in time. Yoga. Union with the natural world. Wild, unspoilt, untamed.

I love to practice Wild Warrior 2 in the landscape. Wild Warrior 2 reminds us of our resilience and power, standing strong in the face of life’s challenges.

Wild Warrior 2

Virabhadrasana II

Stand with your feet wide and arms stretched straight out from your shoulders, ankles approximately beneath your wrists.

Turn your right foot and knee out to face the right.

Angle your left toes slightly in at a 45 degree angle.

Bend your right knee and stack it over your right ankle.

Distribute your weight evenly between both legs, grounding into the earth. Press down through the outer edge of your back foot.

Aim to keep the crown of your head stacked over your heart and pelvis, and your shoulders over your hips.

Reach strongly through both arms, turn your head to gaze at the landscape beyond your right fingertips.

Breathe deep.

To come out of the pose, exhale as you press down through your feet, then inhale and straighten your legs. Return your feet to parallel.

Repeat on the other side.

Notice how you feel.

Wild Warrior 2 builds strength and stability in the lower body, back, core and arms, and improves posture. It focuses our mind and connects us to our center, reminding us to act according to our need in the moment. This discernment is the discipline and strength of a true warrior. Always ready to protect. Self. And wild nature.

Let the landscape inspire your wild story.

This world is so amazing.

So are you.

Love your life
